Who we are

This site is operated by the author identified on the About page (“we”, “us”). Contact details for privacy questions are listed at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

  • Newsletter signup (if offered on this site). If you subscribe, we collect the email address you provide, and pass it to our email service provider for the sole purpose of sending you updates you asked for. We do not sell or rent this information.
  • Standard hosting logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability purposes. This site does not run its own analytics or advertising trackers beyond what its hosting provider requires to operate.
  • Cookies. This site does not set marketing or analytics cookies. Any cookies present are strictly those required for the site or its hosting provider to function.

Where GDPR applies, our legal basis for newsletter emails is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Hosting logs are processed under legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the site secure and operational.

Who we share it with

  • Our email newsletter provider, solely to deliver the newsletter you signed up for.
  • Our hosting/CDN provider, solely to serve the site and keep it secure.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter subscriber data for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete it within a reasonable period after you unsubscribe. Hosting logs are retained only as long as our hosting provider’s standard operational window.

Your rights

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Port your data to another service.
